The Ghosts of the
Screaming Tunnel in Niagara Falls
Located just off Warner Rd.,
the Screaming Tunnel runs under the railway that links up Niagara Falls with
Toronto and on to New York City. The
tunnel isn’t small, with a height of sixteen feet and a length of one
hundred and twenty-five feet.
According to local
lore/legend, about a century back, a farm located just south of the entrance
was set on fire. The legend has a young girl screaming from the farm house,
her nightgown ablaze, ending up dead in the tunnel.
There are different versions
of the story which include irate family murders and rapes.
The
tunnel still sends out a scream that many call the scream of the little girl.
